It really has been too long since I've sat and blogged. Not much has really gone on. Tourney One of Ravelry's Nerd Wars is over, and Tourney Two is going to begin next month. I'm going through my stash now to make sure I have everything I need. In the meantime I'm also spring cleaning my house. I even took about 2 weeks off from work to do it. It's been nice, though a little odd to be home so long.
My girl is about to have a birthday. She'll be spending it on the road back from San Antonio with her school jazz band, so we're using this coming weekend to celebrate. Saturday is the family party at the park, with homemade cupcakes (I screwed them up a little, but they are edible). Then Sunday is the friend party. This year she is having it at the local theater to watch a showing of Thor. She's excited about it, and so are we.
My knitting is coming along. I've completed a handful of projects for Nerd Wars (including a Jayne Cobb-inspired tam o'shanter, which I looooove!) and I've got plenty more on my needles. A coworker is wanting matching dishcloths for her and her sisters, using pinks, greens and stripes with the state of Missouri in the center. Not too hard. I still have the Girlie Scarf to complete, and I need a new pair of wristwarmers for the office. It gets so cold in there! The Two by Two Hands of Blue warmers I knit are too big for me, so I think I'll be unraveling them. Oh well, now I know.
I may also be in for a major promotion here soon. Our organizational structure was shaken up, so now we have Ops I, II, and III, as well as Team Leads, and I'm up for a III or Supe. I'm not sure if that is going to be the Team Lead position or not, but either way it's a big step. I think they finally realized how much I do up there, and all it took was me being out of the office about 3 days before hell broke loose. :)
Back to cleaning. I made a mess in the kitchen that needs to be cleaned up. Note to self: only one cake mix at a time in the Kitchenaid until I can get a splash shield.
